Camie Walker is a veteran educator who is also a life-long learner.  This is her first year at MMA, and she feels like she has come home.  She loves  leading our Jr. High students towards finding and developing their strengths and talents as they journey towards independence.  Her passion is in allowing her students  to make connections with reading,  each other and the world.  While she currently teaches Jr. High ELA and Creative Writing, she is also credentialed in Elementary and Middle School Science.  Her philosophy is that the best way to learn about the world is through science,  while reading and writing are the tools needed to communicate and share ideas  with others. Engineering is one of her passions because she has seen empathy and kindness grow as students  create  ways to solve problems. In her spare time Camie loves spending time with her hubby Warren.  They often travel  to see their  two amazing grandaughters in Arizona.  Reading a good book by the fire, or  snuggling with her Cocker Spaniel Lucky are her favorite at-home past times.  She is currently talking courses to learn more about adolescent Montessori teaching and loves being a part of the MMA family.
