Ms. Heather Thanadabouth

Interventionist

Ms. Heather is a loving and devoted wife and mother, with 2 of her children enrolled here at MMA. She has been a part of the MMA family since January 2025, beginning her adventures here as a Teacher Staff Assistant, and working closely with  Ms. Candice. This school year, she is as one of MMA's Academic Interventionists for Lower and Upper Elementary; and occasionally, you can find her helping our Junior High students as well!

As a Utah native, she spent her young adolescent years living and working on a cattle farm in Alberta, Canada. This was a rude awakening from the city life she was accustomed to. She moved back to Utah her junior year to finish High school in Brigham City, UT. Growing up attending public schools, she has gravitated to Montessori, viewing the learning experience as a breath of fresh air; emphasizing how each child learns in their own unique way, along with their capabilities and accomplishments highlighted, rather than failures. This, she happily states, “is a drastically noticeable contrast to educational methods of traditional schooling”.

With an educational background in Speech Language Pathology at Utah State University, Heather loves to teach ASL to our elementary students, and creating memories and bonds that will last a lifetime! Currently Heather holds an Associate’s degree, and is adamant to continue her education in the future, focusing especially on Montessori training. In 2021, Heather was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor on her balance nerve, and had surgery to remove her left ear anatomy in preparation for brain surgery to remove the tumor in 2022, leaving her with balance problems, facial paralysis, and single-sided deafness. So, if she doesn’t respond to you when you speak, try the other ear!  With her trained knowledge in Speech Therapy, she was able to regain half of her facial movement; relearning how to eat, drink, smile, and speak. She’s still working on riding a bike, so watch out if you see her!

Ms. Heather’s other passions include art, music, plants, geology, mythology, history, sciences, animals (especially elephants), and, of course, her big, goofy, slobbery English Mastiff-Pit at home named Harvey.
