I first joined MMA in 2011, during its second year, thinking I might want to become a teacher and hoping that working at a school would help me find out. I knew nothing about Montessori philosophy at the time, but I fell in love with it immediately, and felt a little sad/jealous that I hadn't had that kind of education myself, because it made so much sense to me.

For about six years, I worked as a classroom assistant in Upper and Lower Elementary and in the front office, and I had the privilege of helping start the school's first athletic clubs for the adolescent program. Along the way, life took me elsewhere for a while as I supported my husband through school. During that season, while raising our young family, I explored my own creative interests and finished my degree in Graphic Design, with an emphasis in branding and user experience, and a minor in Photography with dual emphases in digital portrait and commercial work.

Through it all, my heart stayed at MMA, and I knew I wanted my own children to have a Montessori education. When an opportunity opened up in the front office, we moved back to Utah and I jumped at the chance. A year later, I finally returned to the classroom, this time teaching College and Career Awareness, along with Yearbook and Photography. I'm currently working toward my teaching license and endorsements.

Outside of school, I'm married to my best friend, and together we're raising three amazing boys and one very sweet dog. We love board and video games, hiking, and baking together, and I still make time for photography whenever I can.
