Hello, my name is Fatima Cotto. I was born in San Fernando Valley, California. I moved
to Utah to go to college. I loved the atmosphere and decided to stay.
After college I opened my small daycare business while working at a gym as a childcare
provider. I volunteered and helped schools in the community. I was very enthusiastic
about working with children of all ages and starting my career in teaching. I became a
motivated substitute teacher. I enjoyed being an educator.
I had an opportunity to substitute for MMA; it is a unique school. I learned that Maria
Montessori’s theory key principles include individualized instruction, active learning,
prepared environment, and holistic development. I recognized that all these principles I
was already applying in my life. I had the privilege of being part of MMA. I am grateful
for my position as an assistant teacher. I loved teaching Upper El, first year of 2024-
2025. I love connecting with students and making a difference in their lives.
In my free time I love to travel with my family. I like to try new food.
I love running and exercising. I enjoy arts and crafts.
