Kirsten earned her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Weber State University. She was then blessed to start a family and spent the next thirteen years raising her three children. When her youngest child started first grade, Kirsten felt compelled to seek other opportunities.  After working for two years as a teaching assistant at Maria Montessori Academy, where her children attended school, she pursued her teaching certification and earned her professional level educator license. Kirsten fell in love with Montessori and went on to earn her elementary level I and II Montessori teaching certification. She then received her Master's Degree in Educational Foundations and Policy from Southern Utah University. She is currently in her 14th year teaching fourth and fifth grades at Maria Montessori Academy. Kirsten is presently serving as the team lead of upper elementary. She is also honored to be a part of the Utah Teacher Fellows.
